Confidential Recovery CEO on KUSI San Diego to Discuss Sleeping Cabins for the Homeless in Lemon Grove

Many nearby residents of a new "tiny homes" complex for the unhoused in Lemon Grove are concerned about what that new development will mean for thier neighborhood. While violent offenders, arsonists, and sexual offenders will not be allowed, but many who have substance issues will be included in the housing complex. Interventionist and CEO of Confidential Recovery Scott H. Silverman visited KUSI San Diego to discuss the concerns and brings his decades of experience working with the unhoused as well as recovering people in San Diego. Scott H. Silverman states that he is hopeful, but he urges that any solution incorporates a thorough initial assessment, and tracking of its effectiveness so that we can follow the money expenditure and make further decisions going based on how effective the program is. The good news is that the county will be providing assistance with things like case management, unemployment help, drug & alcohol counseling. Scott, from experience, says that there should be a zero-tolerance policy for substance use and other behaviors that might jeopardize the safety and quality of life of other residents.
